Baby Jazz Ballet

Starting Young- Ballet for Tots ages 3+
BABY JAZZ BALLET is a popular program and is especially designed for those in nursery or kindergarten classes.
It offers an excellent variety of ballet related songs and games, the use of costumes as well as visual aids which help to create a positive and fun way to learn ballet. Imagine a world of music and natural movement that will strengthen a child’s confidence. A world that will capture your child’s imagination and develop his or her inherent creativity.
All of this can be done through dance in a fun atmosphere, in which a child can flourish as an individual.
Stretching, strengthening, and coordination exercises, especially designed for little bodies; development of motor skills (hop, skip, leap, step slide);
creative movement (hop like a frog, fly like a butterfly, curtsy like a princess, bow like a prince); rhythm and counting; accompanied by music.
The thirty week program provides not only the classical basics but also introduces theatre and character dance which helps prepare the children for their annual end of year performance.
In the program there are five levels to choose from: Levels 1 through 5 for children as young as 2 through 8.The BABY JAZZ BALLET program will help children grown into mature, creative fulfilled young individuals and hopefully they will realize their later dreams through early movement.

The Cecchetti method is one of the main training techniques of Classical Ballet. The Cecchetti method is a strict program that enforces planned exercise routines for each day of the week. The program ensures that each part of the body is worked evenly by combining different types of steps into planned routines. Each exercise is performed to the right as well as to the left, starting one side one week, followed by the other side the next week. The Cecchetti method of ballet strives to train its dancers by reducing ballet to an exact science.

A mix of Funky Jazz, and light Hip Hop is a dance style, usually danced to op hop music that evolved from hip hop culture. The first dance associated with hip hop was break dancing.While break dancing consists primarily of moves executed close to the ground, the majority of hip hop moves are done standing up.

Dancers wear shoes which have been equipped with metal plates. As the dancer moves, the plates click against the dance floor, creating a characteristic tapping sound. Tappers can create a variety of percussive rhythms with their feet by tapping, sliding, and clicking the metal plates.
Modern Jazz is known as the avant-garde of jazz. Come express the emotion with classical forms and improvisation of lyrics to guide your journey.
Stretch, Tone & technique
(8-adult) with Katie
Stretching helps a dancer’s flexibility and range of motion. Along with flexibility, a dancer must have strength for alignment, control, and proper use of their flexibility. The dance must be able to maintain a balance of strength and flexibility in all areas of the body. By taking classes designed for only stretching and technique, dancers have the ability to work year round to strengthen their body and improve their flexibility. Since our stretching and technique classes do not have a year end performance piece, dancers do not get distracted with remembering choreography and can continually push their bodies and grow as dancers.
